Utsav' 97 ...the success story



People of suburban-Mumbai, especially buisnessmen, professionals, house wives, children, who do not have to go out for job or work, to Mumbai, do not get shopping and information opportunities as one gets in exibitions and shopping arcades in Mumbai.We at Dombivli Gymkhana, felt the need of an Exhibition of Consumer goods and we launched our maiden Utsav exhibition with the theme Everything for Everyone, christened as Utsav' 97.

At Utsav' 97 we had over 120 stalls, representing various types of products and services related to Family, Home & Small-Office-Home-Office. We had dedicated stalls for organizations involved in social, consumer, civic services as well as government bodies like safety, sandards, weights & measures etc.

Utsav' 97 Had excellent sponsorship support from Indian Express Group (press sponsers) and Aptech, Crompton, Global, LaTim, GehimalHKaria, Proton Computers, TVS-Scooty and Rupee Bank.

Families enjoyed moving about the exhibition, with children enjoying the Amusement park, Food & Beverage stalls and of course the freedom of moving about freely in the well laid-out ground. Nearly 65,000 visitors thronged the venue, availing of the excellent shopping spree.

There was not a single incidence of confusion, panic or discipline, because everything was planned to the demands of such a mega-event, including power back-up, security and house-keeping. Public opinion was of praise for the near-clockwork precision and planning by Dombivli Gymkhana, which led to the eventual success of the Utsav' 97. There have been persistent demands of many of the participants and the public for holding such an exhibition every year.
